Mike Leavitt is an American visual artist who is a huge movie fan of as well. Recently, Mike created 16 wooden figures which he carved himself in order to honor his favorite movie directors. Only that those sculptures’ shapes seem to be a little peculiar since Mike apparently wanted to merge his famous movie makers with iconic characters from their films.
All of his figures are measuring 1:4 in scale and 18 inches tall or wide. And Mike really sculpted from scratch in wood and polymer clay.
As Mike said on his website about his creations, “Great film directors get cut up. They take pains with the details, story, money and sacrifices to their vision. Their body succumbs to the pressure. Art and film treat my pain. They’re magic. They trick me into remembering why this world is so damn beautiful.”
