Every night, my eight year old daughter Gianna always sleeps under a tree-canopied, floating lantern-lit sky. But she doesn’t have to really sleep outside the house, though. In order to have that feel, I created a mural of magical scene of Disney’s“tangled”for Gianna’s room so that it looks like that Gianna can really sleep under a tree.
I got the inspiration to make such mural from the 2010 Disney movie Tangled. Now the mural showcases a romantic boat scene of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. I really love fairy tales and I and my daughter really love all the Disney Princesses, especially Rapunzel. That’s why we especially include Rapunzel in the mural.
Since we really love Rapunzel much because she is the kind of person who is courageous and adventurous. That’s why we think it will be a good idea if we make Rapunzel appear in Gianna’s room so that Rapunzel and whatever beautiful stories happening to her will hold onto Gianna’s dream.
In order to complete the task to turn Gianna’s room into Disney kind of ambience, it took me 60 hours to paint the room. And it wouldn’t have been possible without Gianna’s support. She’s the one who always gives me spirit as to finish the job.
Gianna saw me painting her room from beginning to finish. When she comes home from school, she would run in her room to see the progress I had made. I also listened to the movie’s soundtrack for many times to keep me motivated but that also means pure entertainment fro me. I always had the movie playing on repeat as I painted. It really gives me a true joy as if I were transported into my favorite worlds. Somehow, I get to create my very own scenes in them. It feels magical.
