"I Hand-Craft Seaweed Jelly Cakes With Intricate 3D Designs Of Birds, Flowers, Koi Ponds And Characters."

Today's cake designs are so diverse and creative, including cakes with plant shapes like this. Not only similar to native plants, these cakes actually look more suitable to be placed in the garden than in the refrigerator. Hem ... can be an inspiration for a wedding cake. Combining an artistic creation with food is certainly an interesting thing. However, combining art with food is certainly not easy. The origin of the art of decorating jelly is from Latin America where they use gelatin to make it, so-called Gelatin Art.

One of the food creation arts that is enough attention is 3D jelly art creations. In fact, jelly art is loved in several other parts of the world. Now, 3D painting can be drawn anywhere including in jelly. The result is very beautiful and pampering eyes, so that the jelly don't dare to be eaten.

Siew Heng Boon is the figure behind making 3-dimensional jelly. Her artworks are truly amazing and impressive. Moreover, when she saw in more detail the jelly she made. Siew has made three-dimensional jelly which is generally in the form of flowers in bloom. The colors used to make the jelly itself are beautiful, sweet, and charming. As she wrote in Bored Panda , an Australian woman who has 10.8k followers on her Instagram account and owns a 3D jelly art creation business called Jelly Alchemy . She also uploaded some of her artworks on her personal Instagram account @siewheng83 . The works of jelly art made by Siew Boon also looks interesting.

The method used to make 3D jelly art is quite interesting. Everything is made upside down on a canvas of flavored seaweed jelly (some people use gelatin). Hot-colored liquid jelly (usually a coconut gel for her works) is injected into a clear canvas using special tools. Each flower is made petal by petal (and for birds made feather by feather) through this injection method.

Each making of this cake takes up to 5 hours depending on the level of complexity. Interestingly, all these cakes are edible and of course delicious! What kind of wonder is Siew's gelatin? Here are the photos of the gallery of some Siew's artworks!

Unfortunately, in late 2017 she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She had to put her business on hold as she had to undergo treatment. Siew said, "However, I was determined not to let cancer get in the way from doing what I loved. On the days when I was feeling well, I dedicated my time to create 3D jelly cakes for my team of doctors and carers. During my battle with breast cancer, focusing on creating beautiful 3D jelly cakes helped to shift my focus away from the physical pain and negative thoughts. Moving forward, I hope to find ways to make this a meaningful career so that I can continue dedicating time to gifting this art form to others."
