Keng Lye-Hyper-Realistic 3D Painting Made With Acrylic in a Resin Coating

Perfect optical illusions with hyper-realistic animals by Keng Lye are just a few examples from the extensive "Alive Without Breath" series.

Singapore-based artist Keng Lye applies layer after layer of acrylic paint to transparent resin to create 3D paintings of colorful fish and other sea creatures. The principle is very similar to the 3D printing process, except that it uses meticulous and talented fingers and paint brushes instead of machines to create something that is a painting and sculpture.
