Alabama-based photographer and mom Heather Mitchell had this amazing idea while talking to another mother at her daughter's softball practice.
When it comes to girls taking up sports as pure hobby, passion or profession the amount of encouragement that comes their way isn't very praiseworthy. Hell, we are taunted with questions like "Girls do not like sports, do they?", "Girls cannot play sports because they are too fragile", "She plays soccer, she is such a tomboy". It seems like even today, girls and sports do not go hand-in-hand and we are stereotyped with all things pink, girly, fairytales & fragile damsels.
However, this Alabama-based photographer and mom Heather Mitchell is trying to change this notion. Her series of photographs is all about young girls who have channeled their inner princess and athletes together and have NAILED IT!
Who said that girls and sports can't go hand-in-hand!
When it comes to handling personal and professional tasks and balancing them, there are many exemplary women around us who have managed to strike a balance like a pro!
It's not just sports but we have made our names in fields which are unheard by many!
It's time the world can now see girls in their true avatar where they are not bound with any stereotypical beliefs and can do anything and everything.
Girlsy and athletic, artsy and smart, girls can achieve whatever they dream.
Hey, their life their choices, END!
