The Trondheim police department made the announcement that they managed to apprehend the Night King, the notorious antagonist from 'GoT'.
'Game of Thrones' has now reached the final season and fans were hyped to watch the first episode of season 8. 'GoT' fever is taking over the world, making the people who don't watch the show increasingly irate with the constant chatter about what's going on in Westeros. But the hype is inescapable, because 'Game of Thrones' has that big a fan base! Followers of the show find different ways to celebrate yet another chapter in the 'Game of Thrones' series, often coming up with funny ways to include themselves in the hype.
But for police in Trondheim, the 'Game of Thrones' obsession led to a surprising arrest. The department made the announcement that they managed to apprehend the Night King, the notorious antagonist from 'GoT'. If you're up to date with the show, you'll probably know how hated this guy is.
He's basically trying to turn the people of Westeros into White Walkers, which is a fancy word for zombies. Fans were also doubly agitated when the Night King killed a dragon, turned it into a White Walker/zombie and subsequently used the undead flying lizard to knock down a wall that was protecting the seven kingdoms of Westeros.
So the police department was clearly excited about the surprise arrest they had made. They posted a series of pictures of the arrest on their Facebook page, along with a mugshot of the famous Night King. "The police have received many complaints about a man from the northern region involved in criminal activities," the post says. "Complaints include animal cruelty and property damage (there have been reports of a wall being destroyed), as well as threats to lay vast areas of land desolate."
"Our night watch has now apprehended the man to deter any further criminal activity on his behalf," reveals the rest of the post. The 'Game of Thrones'-themed arrest was a huge success and fans had a good laugh about the magical arrest. The post gained nearly 38K likes and was shared over 4,000 times. The post was a hit among Norwegian 'GoT' fans who appreciated the police department's efforts to delay the arrival of winter.
"Love that the police in Trondheim have humor," praised one commenter. Another person demanded the immediate release of the Night King so that they can finish watching the final season of 'Game of Thrones'. "The night's watch should learn a thing or two from these officers," said another fan.
In the end, 'Game of Thrones' fans had a good chuckle and the Trondheim police gave them hope about the fact that 'winter is coming', but fighting for the greater good always prevails!
