Sheets of Paper Into Impresive Origami Animals

Gonzalo Garcia Calvo is an origami extraordinaire who would meticulously craft expressive and imaginative paper creatures. Check out his creations. Through intricate folding, the Madrid-based artist brings the animal kingdom to life.

Calvo will use only his hands and a single, square sheet of colorful paper to create his wonderful pieces. They are quite various from the cute and cuddly—like his slinky cats and energetic dogs—to more exotic wildlife—including a tiny treefrog and an elegant giraffe.

His paper animals comprise a wide collection of animal life.  Whether real or imaginary, some, like his exquisite unicorn and fierce dragon, or even a mythical creature, however, all signifies Calvo’s irrefutable talent and unwavering patience.

To sculpt their creations, many modern origami artists would use multiple sheets of paper, adhesives, and scissors but as for Calvo’s method, he uses just one square of paper per piece and only his fingers to bring his fantastic designs to life. And it remains true to the ancient craft’s primary roots.
