There is this fabulously scenic beauty of mountains in China that reminds us of “Hallelujah” the floating mountains in the Avatar movie. If in the movie you just watch the characters riding giant birds flying down the mountains to give you an eerie feeling, this time you can even have the same experience or even worse than that since you also have to be up on top and step on the glass walkway that makes you able to see clearly what’s down there.
In the movie it is said that such mountains are actually floating islands that circulate in the magnetic currents like icebergs at sea, scraping against each other and the towering mesa-like mountains of the region. But this walkway which is attached to the cliff is showing you the most majestic panorama of truly real mountains which are located on the side of Tianment mountain in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in Hunan province.
To walk on the glass surface, you need to put on soft shoe-cover like socks that will assure you that no harm is done to the glass, since any scratch made on the glass can lead to breakage. When it happens, it will be a terrifying disaster for everyone on the walkway.
You might want to look away instead of looking straight down under you if you are scared of heights. Most likely that this walkway in China is your worst nightmare which really comes true. The fact that it’s attached 4,600ft (1,403 metres) up on the side of a mountain is scary enough, but the fact that it’s also made of glass is nothing short of terrifying as well. This glass walkway is surely made only for the adventurous people.
